Register now for OLAW Conversations: Reducing Administrative Burden in Zebrafish Programs and Grant to Protocol Congruence Review
September 16, 2021, from 1:30 – 3:30 PM ET
Please join us on September 16, 2021, from 1:30 to 3:30 PM ET for this free, interactive virtual event. Panelists will discuss two recently closed Requests for Information in response to the 21st Century Cures Act.
First, OLAW will summarize NOT-OD-21-118, which aimed to reduce administrative burden for zebrafish programs, and discuss its justification for continuing to apply the PHS Policy to zebrafish immediately after hatching. Panelists will also discuss flexibilities for protocol review and conducting semiannual inspections, and how to generate approximate numbers of animals.
Secondly, panelists will address common misconceptions about the requirements, responsibility, timing, and conduct of the grant to protocol congruence review and highlight flexibilities that may reduce administrative burden.
OLAW Conversations is a new virtual offering from the ICARE Project and OLAW that focuses on hot topics in the animal care and use community. It is discussion-based, where information is presented by subject matter experts and attendees add to the conversation by sharing their ideas, perspectives, and questions. Experts will also weigh in on participant discussion to offer insights and ensure regulatory compliance, where applicable.
Participants are welcome to submit their questions on these topics in advance by emailing OLAW.
