The NIH issued Guide Notice NOT-OD-25-123 Updated NIH Processes for Proposed Projects Involving Chimpanzees or Chimpanzee Biomaterials to inform the research community of changes in the review of applications for NIH funding and requests that potentially involve chimpanzees or chimpanzee biomaterials. Institutions or individuals proposing research that potentially involves chimpanzees or chimpanzee biomaterials will be contacted to complete and submit a Chimpanzee Research Use form that will be reviewed by the NIH Office of Laboratory Animal Welfare to ensure that only allowable noninvasive research and no prohibited invasive research will be conducted (refer to NOT-OD-14-024 and NOT-OD-16-095).
