OLAW has extended reporting deadlines for all PHS-Assured institutions to compensate for the government shutdown period. Preliminary and final reports of noncompliance, reports of IACUC suspensions, and all other correspondence should be submitted to OLAW as soon as possible.
Federal institutions with an approved Domestic Assurance unable to conduct official IACUC business as scheduled due to the shutdown have a 30-day extension to complete such activities.
- If needed, federal institutions have a 30-day extension to submit the fiscal year 2025 Annual Report to OLAW. The reporting period remains unchanged (October 1, 2024 - September 30, 2025) and the Annual Report may be submitted by no later than January 1, 2026.
- If the shutdown caused the interval between the Semiannual Program Reviews and/or Semiannual Facility Inspections to exceed 6 months and the 30-day grace period, the government shutdown should be noted as the reason for the delay on next year’s 2026 Domestic Annual Report to OLAW.
The 30-day extension does not apply to non-federal institutions with an approved Domestic Assurance that were not impacted by the government shutdown.
The current Assurance status of an organization will remain in effect and unchanged during the review period for institutions undergoing Domestic or Foreign Assurance negotiation.
For questions, email [email protected] or phone 301-496-7163. OLAW will continue to provide updates as necessary.
