Upcoming PRIM&R Workshop: AI-Driven Behavioral Analysis [External Event]

March 26, 2026 | 1:00-2:30 PM ET | Virtual
Members: $225 Nonmembers $330

This workshop explores the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) in preclinical research, focusing on how AI-driven behavioral monitoring of mice and rats enhances data accuracy, reduces variability, and improves animal welfare. Having an electronic system flag potential animal behaviors and alert staff that veterinary treatments may need to be initiated saves time, reduces animal welfare incidents, and ensures animal welfare issues are caught early. In this session, speakers and attendees will examine real-world applications, ethical considerations, and the impact of AI on study outcomes in biotech and pharmaceutical research.

CE Credit participants will receive a certificate of attendance that documents up to 1.5 continuing education credit hours for their attendance at this webinar. Certificates of attendance are useful for obtaining CE credits from professional associations. Each association's guidelines for accepting CE credit hours (in-person or virtual) may differ. Please consult the appropriate association representative for information on if, and how many, CE credits from this PRIM&R webinar may be used.

CPIA Participants holding the Certified Professional in IACUC Administration (CPIA®) credential may apply 1.5 continuing education credits towards CPIA recertification. Please refer to the CPIA recertification guidelines for additional information.

Webinar: CUSP at One: Reflections, Results, and the Road Ahead [External Event]

March 25, 2026 | 11:30 AM ET | Virtual

Join Scott Bury (Vanderbilt University), Aubrey Schoenleben (University of Washington), and Julie Sharp (University of California, San Francisco) for an update on the Compliance Unit Standard Procedure (CUSP) Sharing Site — a multi-institutional initiative developed in collaboration with the Federal Demonstration Partnership (FDP).

Launched in 2025, CUSP is an online database designed to support the sharing of standard procedures used in animal research. This webinar will provide guidance on joining the platform, share perspectives from participating institutions, highlight results from an ongoing user survey, and explore future directions for the initiative.

CUSP aims to reduce administrative burden and strengthen inter-institutional communication among researchers and regulators, while enhancing animal care through the dissemination of procedures demonstrated to meet the standards of IACUCs, veterinarians, researchers, and national regulatory bodies.
